Christian Léger was born in Bourgogne. He did his musical studies at the National Coservatoire of the Region of Dijon, and later at the Paris Conservatoire, where he won in 1989 the First Prize unanimously. He was part of the Brass Quintet Guy Touvron and Les Cuivres Français, led by Thierry Caens. He has been Principal Trumpet and Cornet in the Orchestre National de Lyon since 1991.
In parallel, he teaches sight-reading and works as an assistant professor of Trumpet at the National Conservatory of Music in Lyon.
Christian Léger is also a member of the teaching staff of the French Youth Orchestra and is regularly invited to participate in courses and specialized brass academies.
