Born in Bayonne in 1986, Laurent Dupéré began playing the trumpet at the age of seven. Two years later, he entered the National Conservatory of the Bayonne Côte Basque Region and honed his skills under the tutelage of Professors M. Sibra and M. Goueytes. After winning First Prize in 2000, and following the advice of Maurice André, he decided to continue his musical studies in the Paris region at the Aubervilliers Conservatory. He then developed a close relationship with André Presle, a renowned pedagogue and ex principal trumpet of the Île-de-France National Orchestra. Subsequently, Laurent Dupéré joined the class of his son, Frédéric Presle, at the Boulogne-Billancourt Conservatory. In 2006, Laurent Dupéré passed the entrance exam to the CNSMD in Paris, studying under Antoine Curé and Bruno Nouvion. Four years later, he graduated with a Master's degree, receiving unanimous honors.
Laurent Dupéré pursued a career as an orchestral musician. In 2007, he joined the Lamoureux Concert Orchestra in Paris, and in July 2014, he won the position of principal trumpet player of the Bordeaux Aquitaine National Orchestra. He is also regularly invited to perform with national orchestras such as the Toulouse Capitole National Orchestra and the Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra.
Laurent Dupéré is equally interested in chamber music and won Third Prize at the Lyon International Chamber Music Competition in 2012 with the Only Brass Quintet. As a soloist, he notably performed B.A. Zimmermann's Nobody Knows the Trouble I See Concerto in March 2016 under the direction of Paul Daniel.
