Honiba is a company devoted to the manufacture of the finest quality brass instruments, under the hallmark STOMVI.
VICENTE HONORATO IBÁÑEZ (1952)
President
At the age of only 28, Vicente Honorato created his own company devoted to the manufacture of fine jewellery. At age 30 he embarked on his new passion: the production of fine brass instruments. His creative approach was endorsed early on by leading brass practitioners.
The hand crafting of each of Vicente Honorato’s STOMVI instruments benefits directly from Vicente Honorato’s wealth of experience in jewellery smithing. This continues a rich historical tradition that harks back to the XVIth and XVIIth centuries in Nuremberg, when artisan jewellers and craftsmen turned their talents to the production of musical instruments in dedicated workshops.
Vicente Honorato is known for his keen musical ear and perfect pitch, which combined with his craftsman’s skills refined over long years impart in the instruments he creates a peerless tuning, without parallel.
In the sanctum of his Spanish factory in Xirivella, Valencia, there are received daily visits from leading brass musicians. It is their feedback, insight and experience that helps to shape the future generations of STOMVI instruments.
NEW FACILITIES
STOMVI has recently carried out a major renovation of its facilities in order to create a bespoke open space, tailored for the use and convenience of professional musicians.
For that purpose, two new study rooms have been made available to performers who can now unleash their creativity, as well as share their concerns and views with our research team.
Moreover, master classes are held periodically in such rooms as part of a project on musical dissemination in which several of the most preeminent international musicians will take part.
A further significant development is the creation of a showroom, where our full range of instruments and accessories are available to all musicians visiting our premises. This availability guarantees that clients can make the best possible choice for them. In addition to being able to experiment with various configurations, customers can also avail themselves of the advice of our professional team.
STOMVI arranges guided tours of its premises which are very informative. Apart from an excellent way to gain first-hand knowledge of the complex production process of hand crafted STOMVI instruments, these tours provide an insight into what makes STOMVI instruments so superlative in today’s market.
